Our Class’s Signature Greeting! クラスの“お決まり”の挨拶！✋✊

こんばんは！あやごんです。

今日は私のクラスの挨拶文化についてお話しします！私は現在プログラミングスクールに通っているのですが、そこでのクラスメイトとの挨拶がとても素敵なんです。

ほとんどのみんなが「Good morning!」や「Bye bye!」のときに、必ずハイタッチ＆グーパンチをするんです。パーからのグーですね。

私も最初は慣れなかったのですが、８ヶ月経った今では、この挨拶がないと寂しく感じるくらい大好きになりました。そして面白いのが、このクラスは比較的年齢層が高めで、平均年齢は20代後半。それなのに、挨拶だけはとってもお茶目で、いつも思わず笑ってしまいます。

おそらく、ブラジル人の男の子が始めた挨拶が、だんだんみんなに広がっていったんだと思います。日本ではまず見られない、すごくフレンドリーな挨拶ですよね。

実は私も、ハンドボールの練習後にチームメイトみんなとやってみようかなと企んでいます！最初はちょっと違和感があっても、やられた方はきっと嬉しいと思うんです。物は試し、次の練習からチャレンジしてみます！

Today I want to talk about the greeting culture in my class. I’m studying at a programming school now, and the way my classmates greet each other is really fun.

Almost everyone says “Good morning!” or “Bye bye!” with a high-five and a fist bump. (First a high-five, then a fist bump!)

At first I wasn’t used to it, but after eight months I really love it. Now, if we don’t do it, I actually feel a little sad. The funny thing is, most of my classmates are in their late twenties, so the class feels kind of mature. But when it comes to greetings, everyone suddenly acts playful, and it always makes me smile.

I think it started with one Brazilian guy, and then slowly everyone joined in. It’s such a friendly style of greeting, something you would never see in Japan.

Actually, I’m planning to try this with my handball team after practice! It might feel a little strange at first, but I’m sure it will make people happy. So next time, I’ll give it a try!
