My First Pumpkin Carving!

Hi everyone! It’s Ayagon! 🎃

Today, I’m continuing my “America series” with a story about my first-ever pumpkin carving experience!

That morning, the three of us went to a pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins.

Rows and rows of bright orange pumpkins were lined up—it was the perfect Halloween scene!

Before going, I imagined it would be something simple, like “strawberry picking” in Japan.

But when we got there, I realized people take it way more seriously than I expected!

Each of us chose our own pumpkin, and it was so funny to see our personalities come through in our choices.

I was looking for the smallest and lightest pumpkin I could find.

My Japanese friend kept switching pumpkins right up to the very last minute, trying to find the best one.

And our American friend carefully chose pumpkins not only for herself but also for her siblings.

We were totally three different types of people! 😂

Once we got back home, it was finally time to start carving!

My friend’s little sister joined us too, so there were four of us in total.

The pumpkins were softer than I expected, and once I got the hang of it, the carving went pretty smoothly.

When we finished, I was surprised how much each jack-o’-lantern reflected our personalities—none of them looked alike at all! lol

I’m not the kind of person who pays attention to small details, and my jack-o’-lantern totally showed that.

It wasn’t perfect, but it felt very me, and I ended up loving it.

The one that surprised me the most was my friend’s little sister’s pumpkin—it was so detailed and creative, even better than what most adults could do!

We took a photo of all four jack-o’-lanterns together, so I’ll post it here as a memory.

Try to guess which one was made by the little sister! 😆
