本日からぼちぼち更新を再開します！
久しぶりの投稿は、昨年の11月ごろに日本に一時帰国したお話です。
いやぁ、たった5日間でしたが、とても盛りだくさんの帰省になって、本当に楽しかったです！
まずは、到着初日に起きたWi-Fiトラブルから…。
成田空港に16時ごろ着いたのですが、日本に着けばなんとかなるだろうと思い、日本用のケータイSIMを購入しませんでした。
今思うと、空港で国内SIMを買うべきでしたね。
空港から東京駅まで、インターネットなしで向かうことになりました。
成田空港から東京駅って、あんなに遠いんですね。
電車ですぐかと思いきや、乗り換えも多く、インターネットなしの私には到底無理でした。
そこで駅のホームにいた学生にお願いして、今いる駅から東京駅までの道のりを写真に撮らせてもらい、それを見ながらなんとか東京駅に到着しました。
東京駅ならさすがにフリーWi-Fiが使えるだろうと思ったのですが、なぜかインターネットがつながらず、ここでもSIMを買えませんでした。
仕方なくそのまま新幹線に乗り、新幹線のWi-Fiも試してみましたが、ここでもなぜか接続できず…。
これはまずいと思い、Wi-Fiが無理ならもう隣の人にテザリングしてもらうしかない！と決心し、隣の方に
「インターネットがつながらなくて…少しインターネットを貸していただけませんか？」
とお願いしました。
運よく、隣の方は快くOKしてくれました。
接続のためにパスワードを聞くと、コンピュータが作ったであろう強力なパスワード。
ここまでの疲れもあり、
「ここにきてこの強力なパスワードを手打ちしなきゃいけないのか！！」
と心の中で「うわぁぁ〜（笑）」と思いましたが、もちろん文句は言えません。
むしろ、セキュリティ的には素晴らしいことです。
1文字、1文字正確に入力して、ついに念願のインターネットをゲット！
両親に最寄り駅に着く時間を連絡し、隣の方にお礼を伝えて、なんとか事なきを得ました。
日本に旅行に来た外国人でも、もう少しうまくやれるだろう…と自分にツッコミたくなるような出来事でした（笑）
でも、写真を撮らせてくれた学生さんも、テザリングしてくれた隣の方も、本当に優しい人でしたね。

My First Day Back in Japan! With No Internet
Good morning! This is Ayagon!
Starting today, I’ll slowly begin updating my blog again.
For my first post in a while, I want to share a story about when I briefly went back to Japan last November.
It was only a five-day trip, but it was packed with events, and I had such a great time!
First, let me tell you about the Wi-Fi trouble I had on the very first day…
I arrived at Narita Airport around 4 p.m., and I thought, “Once I’m in Japan, I’ll figure something out,” so I didn’t buy a Japanese SIM card.
Looking back, I definitely should have bought one at the airport.
Because of that, I had to travel from the airport to Tokyo Station without internet.
By the way, Narita Airport is much farther from Tokyo Station than I expected.
I thought it would be a quick train ride, but there were many transfers, and without internet it was almost impossible for me to figure it out.
So I asked a student who was standing on the platform if I could take a picture of the route from my current station to Tokyo Station.
I kept checking that picture while traveling and somehow managed to get to Tokyo Station.
At Tokyo Station, I thought, “Surely I can use free Wi-Fi here.”
But for some reason, I still couldn’t connect to the internet, so I couldn’t buy a SIM card there either.
So I just got on the Shinkansen and tried using the train’s Wi-Fi, but again, for some reason, I couldn’t connect.
At that point, I thought, “This is bad.”
If Wi-Fi doesn’t work, my only option is to ask the person next to me for tethering.
So I asked the person sitting next to me,
“My internet isn’t working… Would it be possible for me to use your hotspot for a moment?”
Luckily, they kindly agreed.
Then I asked for the password.
It was one of those very strong passwords that computers generate.
After everything I had already been through, I thought in my head,
“Wait… I have to type THIS password manually right now?!”
Of course, I couldn’t complain.
Actually, it’s great security!
So I carefully typed every single character.
Finally… I got internet!
I messaged my parents to tell them what time I would arrive at the nearest station, thanked the person next to me, and everything worked out in the end.
Honestly, even a foreign tourist visiting Japan could probably have handled this better than I did! (lol)
But the student who let me take the photo and the person who shared their hotspot were both very kind.
I was really grateful for their help.
