今日は「I love you」の使い方は国によって違う！というお話をしたいと思います。
それは、みんなでビーチに行った帰りの車でのこと。「愛してるってどれくらい言う？」という会話から始まりました。
まずはアメリカ人の友人。友達にはバイバイの挨拶代わりに「Love you!」と使うし、家族にも、もちろん恋人にもよく使うとのこと。確かにそんなイメージありますよね。
続いて韓国人の友人。（※愛してる＝サランへ）恋人には毎日言うけれど、友達には滅多に言わないそうです。ただ、家族には結構よく伝えるんだとか。素敵。🥰
残るは日本人（私を含めてその日3人いたのですが）、結論は「まぁ恋人だけじゃないかな？」という感じに（笑）きっと、恋人に対しても照れて言えない人も多いですよね。
そして面白かったのが、その会話をした後だからでしょうか、アメリカ人の友達が韓国人の友達に帰り際「サランへ！」と言ったんです。それに対して韓国人の友達が「私は返せない〜！」と答えていました（笑）
きっと彼女の「サランへ」は恋人や家族限定なんでしょうね（笑）可愛らしいですよね。Love you なら言えるのかな？？
これからもっといろんな人と出会って、それぞれの国の「I love you」を知りたいなと思った日でした！

Today, I want to talk about how people use “I love you” differently depending on their country.
This came up on our way back from the beach. In the car, I asked, “How often do you say ‘I love you’?”
First, my American friend. They said they often use “Love you!” when saying goodbye to friends, and of course, they say it to their family and partner as well. I could definitely imagine that!
Next, my Korean friend. (“I love you” in Korean = “saranghae”) She told us that she says it to her partner every day, but seldom to friends. To family, though, she says it sometimes.
Then, the Japanese side (including me—there were three of us that day). Our conclusion was, “Well, probably only to a partner, right?” lol, and I think some people are too shy even to say it to their partner.
The funniest part came afterward. Maybe because we had just had that conversation, my American friend said “Saranghae!!!” to my Korean friend as we said goodbye. My Korean friend laughed and replied, “I can’t say it back!” lol
I guess for her, “saranghae” is only for her partner or family. So cute, right? I wonder if she could say “Love you” instead.
It made me realize that I want to meet more people and learn how “I love you” is used in different countries!
