今日は私がカナダに来た理由についてです！
理由は2つあり、①海外で働いてみたいと考えたから、②私がレズビアン🌈だからです！
急なカミングアウトになりましたね（笑） LQBTQ＋関連の話はまた別の投稿で書きたいですが、この２つが私をここまで運んでくれた大きな理由です。
まず、1つ目の「海外で働いてみたい」という気持ちについてお話しします。私は日本のIT企業で4年半、営業として働いていました。消防司令システムという人命に関わるシステムに携わっており、大きなやりがいを感じていました。ただその一方で、営業としての限界もずっと感じていました。仕事をすればするほど、課題を本質的に解決しているのはエンジニアなどの技術を持った人たちだなと痛感するようになったのです。
そこで私は「もっとスキルを身に付けて、自分自身の可能性を広げたい」と思うようになりました。そしてどうせ挑戦するなら、「思いきって海外で学び・働いてみたい」そう思い、英語とプログラミングの習得を目指してカナダに来ることを決意しました。
2つ目の理由については、またしっかり別で書く予定ですが、率直にいうと「自分らしく生きたい」という想いです。日本でももちろんレズビアンで生きることはできますが、私はもっとオープンな環境で、周囲を気にせずに生きられる場所が欲しかったんです。
こうして私は、昨年8月末にカナダに来て、今はプログラミングの学校に通っています！面白いことと驚きの連続なので、このブログで沢山シェアできたら嬉しいです！

Why I Came to Canada🇨🇦
Today, I’d like to share the reasons why I came to Canada!
There are two main reasons:
① I wanted to work abroad.
② I’m a lesbian and part of the LGBTQ community.🌈
That was a sudden coming out, wasn’t it? lol
I’ll write more about LGBTQ-related topics in another post, but these two reasons are what truly brought me here.
Let me first talk about the desire to work abroad.
I worked as a sales representative at an IT company in Japan for four and a half years. I was involved in developing a fire command system, which is used to save lives, and I found a deep sense of purpose in that work.
At the same time, however, I also started to feel the limitations of being in sales. The more I worked, the more I realized that it was the engineers and others with technical skills who were truly solving problems.
That’s when I began to think, “I want to gain skills and expand my potential.”
And if I was going to take on a new challenge, I wanted to go all in — to study and work overseas. That’s what led me to come to Canada to learn both English and programming.
As for the second reason, I’ll talk more about that in a separate post, but to put it simply, I wanted to live authentically as myself.
While it’s possible to be LGBTQ＋ in Japan, I wanted to live in a more open environment — somewhere I wouldn’t have to constantly worry about how others see me.
So, in late August last year, I made the move to Canada.
Now I’m attending a programming school here, and every day has been filled with surprises and exciting moments. I’d love to share more of these experiences through this blog!
